Wall Drug is actually very famous. Those signs are their thing. It started with the water... They gave out free ice water during the depression and advertised it on the highways. A friend in WWII put them up in Europe, and there was even an ad for them in the London Underground.

AND...

IT's one of 1000 Places to See in the USA and Canada Before You Die so check it off the list baby!

Karen, the pictures are beautiful and bring back lots of memories of similar trips I have taken.

Soon you and your father will be heading out on what I imagine will become a Legendary Roadtrip. Enjoy all the moments and stay safe. Love, AP

This is one of my favorite ways to spend time -- good friends, good or cheap wine, and lots of conversation.

Karen.....I think you were misunderstood. Since you are living in Canada....I took this as a comparison....and something that most Americans just don't do no matter what the circumstances.......maybe you can start the trend when you return! love, Mom

If composting were available to me, I would do it. Living in the city means that lots of services need to be shared (i.e. there isn't enough space for everybody to have their own compost pile). I would gladly share some compost space with my neighbors... actually, come to think of it; I bet that the people who live in the building next to me are trying to start a compost heap in the alley-way between our houses. EUREKA! Now I know why they keep throwing trash out their windows.
