This past weekend certainly had a musical theme to it. Saturday I met with Wilson Padmos for some piano lessons. He’s a pretty cool guy, and I’m really excited to be working with him over the next few months to ‘find’ my fingers again. It felt great to be sitting at a real piano banging out some scales and Hannon practice maneuvers.
Wilson invited me to go see his band play Saturday night, and so was born my first Saturday night in Vancouver with PLANS! I headed over to the Fairview Pub which is a great place for live music. Wilson’s band, Freeflow was the main act – and they were awesome. If anyone comes to visit and they are playing locally, we should totally go check it out. However there was also an opening band – Red Eye – who is currently getting ready to head out on tour with G Love, and it was great to get to see them as well.
I met a couple at the bar who were very friendly, and a bit crazy. Thy are mid to late 30’s, and I was glad to have people to talk to – and these guys had plenty of interesting conversation to keep the night going.
Overall, it was a good weekend. Now on to the work week!
